Lee's Background:
Lee’s sporting endeavours and fitness focus began way back, when as a 14 year old farm boy he setup his own obstacle course which was made up of bits and pieces from around the farm. Whilst most of his friends were catching up and hanging out Lee was - running around the paddock with
- a steel pipe full of lead over shoulders or
- 2 dumbbells made from 2 big old bolts with lead melted onto each ends
- running through car tires
- Pushing an old Austin Freeway 50 meters
- Jumping the electric fence into the next paddock
- Rope course setup in trees
- Climb up first rope (approx 12ft)
- scale across the next rope (approx 15 foot)
- down the final rope
and this was in his spare time. On top of this circuit (which was completed 2 to 3 times a week) Lee played AFL on Saturdays and League on Sundays. Lee’s intense training and desire to be the best soon had him not just playing AFL at the highest level for his age group as part of the Murray Bushrangers but he was also selected in the NSW Country team in Rugby League which was very quickly followed by selection in the Australian U19 Rugby League side. Lee did a stint in Melbourne playing rugby however as the old saying goes “you can take the boy from the country but not the country from the boy” so it wasn’t long before Lee was missing the open spaces and the country lifestyle so he packed up and moved back home to country Victoria. It was time for a change in sports focus and Lee moved from being very football orientated to Motorcross and more predominantly, Freestyle Jumping. He took over one of the paddocks on the farm and setup his own ramps and jumps with mum sitting in the house approx 1km away praying that the constant revs of the motorbike wouldn’t ‘suddenly stop’. His love of AFL and Rugby League once again took over and he decided to head up North to Brisbane to see where either of these sports could take him. Whilst he is actively playing AFL and enjoying it, his focus has shifted, its not all about playing and conquering a sport, its about being fit, enjoying life and helping others through their training. Lee completed his Cert III and IV in fitness and has kicked off his career as a personal trainer and he believes he has finally found his niche in life. He loves to train and he loves training and motivating others.
